About
Classic Yak is a monthly podcast aimed at providing you with spiritual, intellectual, reality-based, and downright funny discussion from a Christian viewpoint.
Your presenters are:
James “Dinoman” Renwick
James is the good looking one of the group. He is a business student at Strathclyde University where he spends around 5 hours a week there and is currently leader of Encounter which is a youth church based in Whiteinch. His passions are youthwork, wii and football and loves to follow Rangers FC. James came to faith through a Scripture Union group in Whiteinch at the age of 11.
Alistair “BigAl” Bain
Al is the resident SF/gaming geek of the group. He works part-time for Whiteinch Church of Scotland and spends the rest of his “working” time trying to write his first novel. He has a healthy obsession with H.P. Lovecraft and spends many hours playing GuildWars when he’s meant to be writing. He’s married to Ruth. Al has been a Christian since he was 25.
Ben “mrBen” Thorp
Ben is the computer geek of the bunch, and responsible for ensuring that everything gets recorded and encoded properly. He’s a big fan of Linux and Open Source software, and much of the inspiration for Classic Yak comes from his obsession with LugRadio. He is married to Heather, and has 1 beautiful daughter named Mira. Ben’s Dad is an Anglican minister in England, and Ben has been a Christian since he was 9.
Scott “Scotty” Robertson
Scott is the stylish one of the group. He is currently studying Sport and Physical Activity at Strathclyde University. Sports and Music are his two main passions. He plays a lot of football and also likes to jam away on the guitar and drums. He loves playing the PS3 and could pretty much run a masterclass on Call of Duty 4 and Pro Ev 2008. Scott became a christian aged 18 after an “interesting” first year at university.
We are all members of Whiteinch Church of Scotland but hail from a variety of backgrounds, which is what (hopefully) makes the show interesting.
