Why?

We felt there was a niche in the market for the kind of podcast we wanted to produce. Many Christian podcasts are aimed at being devotional, or providing solid spiritual food. Also, many of them are presented by a single person. We wanted to exploit the dynamic you get from having more presenters, and having discussions on the show. Plus, we wanted to tackle some of the every day, real-world situations that we face as humans, but from a Christian perspective. Oh, and we wanted to have fun, and for you to have fun listening to it too. Christians need to have more fun.

When is Classic Yak released?

We release on the last Monday of each month.

Where did you get your name?

Heh. Well - the initial seed was sown via the Band Name Generator. Al and I already ran JediMoose and so an affiliation with large hairy animals seemed like a good idea. Plus, in the UK at least, Yak is also a slang term for having a “noisy talk”.

How do you make Classic Yak?

See the Colophon for details of the hardware and software we use.

How long is Season 1 going to be?

Season 1 will be at least 6 episodes long, maybe as long as 9. Who knows?

What is a “podcast”?

‘Podcast’ is just a name for an audio recording released in a particular manner on the internet. You don’t need an iPod to play podcasts, just any software or hardware that will play MP3 or Ogg files. The default media player on your computer will already be able to play MP3 files.

How can I subscribe to a podcast?

You’ll need some podcatching software. If you’re already an iTunes user, then you can use that. Alternatively, try Juice. Simply copy the feed link from the front page into the Add new subscriptions dialogue, and it will download all the shows, and will download new shows when they arrive.
